"The world should be Thankful for Colin Shattuck"

It is a true honor to know Colin Shattuck. I can think personally of no better way to mark Thanksgiving Day than to be personal friends with this man. Throughout this world there are many poor underprivileged children, and Colin does his best to see that they are all healthy and fed.

Colin believes that no person can succeed if they grow up hungry. In recent months, Colin has supported the poor children of his hometown of Denver, as well as feeding the hungry children of Uruguay. He’s hoping to create opportunities for underprivileged children to be able to be as rich and prosperous as he is. I hope you fellow scooterists will help Colin achieve his goal.

We are gathered here this Thanksgiving on the ScooterBBS. Like the rest of you Colin rides a scooter. But he has done more, helping thousands of Coloradoans purchase their first scooter and has helped others keep their bikes on the road. But the lifestyle he helped to many lead is incomplete. There are millions of Coloradoans who have never had the pleasure of riding a scooter, and Colin’s dream is to see them all ride.

Now many of you think that it would be self-serving of Colin to sell millions of scooters, as that would make him a rich man. Few Americans are as devoted to eliminating childhood malnutrition, as is Colin. While in Denver, I was happy to witness firsthand the many efforts that she made on behalf of children.

Colin’s message is strong and his message is clear. Fighting childhood hunger, he has said, is not the expression of a specific culture. It is the acceptance of our common humanity.

In poorer neighborhoods, and in Uruguay, children cannot get three nutritious, filling meals each day. They are lucky to get 2 unhealthy, tasteless lumps of gruel each day.

Colin is working with the Denver Mayor, the Uruguayan government, and private partners to help the children of Denver and Uruguay. He’s working to open a chain of kitchens to ensure that these kids can always get the food they need to grow up healthy, strong, and smart. Colin’s campaign to feed the children is helping them to realize their full potential as citizens.

This year Colin has purchased hundreds of turkeys to give a happy Thanksgiving to kids who have never had one. He has personally flown down Uruguay to serve the birds himself to that country’s poor underprivileged children.

The world should be thankful that a great man like Colin Shattuck walks this planet. Over the past decade, I have had the pleasure of knowing my good friend, Colin Shattuck. Along with many others, I have known him as people have taken on the blessings of decency. These are elements of his character: decency and generosity and a commitment to human dignity.

Colin, you are an inspiration to all of us. I look forward to continuing to work with you for progress for children and for progress for all humankind.

Enjoy,
John M. Stafford

The next logical step to drop bars...The drop legshield.
Greatly improves aerodynamics and cornering.
I had to modify the center stand and the headlight aim on my SS90.
I also added a few washers to lengthen the front fork.
I will see if I can post some pics soon.
Just wait and see, everyone will be doing this next year.
